A variety of extracurricular organizations offer students opportunities to interact with diverse communities outside of the school. Participation in these organizations builds leadership skills, confidence, and expands students’ access to professional networks. Students can connect with professional organizations through student architecture and planning associations like the AIAS (American Institute of Architecture Students) and MSPA (Milwaukee Student Planning Association), attend national conferences and networking events with the Emerging Green Builders (EGB), or design and execute a project for a client through Habitat for Humanity. Mentoring for architecture students is available through the MentArch and NOMAS (National Organization of Minority Architecture Students).
