July 24, 2022 – July 30, 2022
The UW-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning (SARUP) is excited to offer a virtual one-week summer camp opportunity for high school students interested in architecture, design, and 3D digital modeling. This fully online program provides an immersive, hands-on learning experience for students in grades 9-12, including new high school graduates.
Led by SARUP faculty member Alex Timmer, with the help of graduate students, staff and other faculty, our Virtual Architecture Summer Camp Academy provides students the opportunity to design an architectural solution for a local Milwaukee site. Students will learn how to communicate their design ideas through models, drawings, text, and verbal presentation. Workshops will teach students how to use digital modeling tools, read architectural drawings, and document their work through 2D representation.
This Virtual Architecture Summer Camp Academy will kick off from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Central Time on July 24 and then will meet virtually from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Central Time July 25 – July 29.
On Saturday July 30, students and families will have an optional opportunity to visit UWM in person from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to take some architecture tours and have lunch at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning. The fee for the week-long summer camp is $450.
