High-achieving students entering UWM as undergraduates can participate in an accelerated program to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies (BA-US) and a professionally-focused Master of Urban Planning (MUP) degree in five years. This program is coordinated between the Urban Studies Program (USP) in the College of Letters and Science and the Department of Urban Planning (DUP) in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning.

As Wisconsin’s premier R1 urban research university situated in the state’s largest city and metro region, and the only university in the state with both an undergraduate urban studies BA and a graduate urban planning degree program, this UWM combined accelerated program is ideally suited for students interested in urban challenges and solutions.
