Dreiseitl will present the Urban Edge Prize Lecture “Fluid Thinking” launches the Urban Edge 2020 weekly lecture series: “Water and the Port Cities of the Great Lakes Basin.” Organized by Urban Edge Studio lead and Architecture Professor James Wasley, the Urban Edge Lecture Series presents Friday virtual lectures featuring ecologists, landscape architects, and urban designers from around the Great Lakes Basin and the world.

From Private to Commons: Lecture by Stefan Gruber
As part of the Marcus Prize Studio, Tatiana Bilbao and Assistant Professor Alex Timmer are pleased to invite Stefan Gruber to lecture to the studio.

Stefan Gruber is a registered architect and Associate Professor in the Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture. He serves as Track Chair of the Master of Urban Design (MUD) program. His work spans architectural design, urbanism, and research with a particular focus on spatial practices and the political as articulated through the negotiation of top-down planning and bottom-up transformations of cities. Recent projects investigate our shifting notions of ownership, incited through new technologies and practices of commoning, and the reclaiming of the economies of sharing. His work explores emerging spaces and communities performing beyond the dichotomy of private and public.
