A group of MPS students participated in a summer program that focused on the successful design and architecture of several new structures in Milwaukee. The partnership marks the first time that NAF’s Future Ready Scholars program included architecture in their STEM offerings. NAF is a national network of education, business and community leaders dedicated to making sure that high school students are prepared for college. NAF’s Future Ready Scholars program focuses on learning opportunities in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.

Mo Zell, interim dean of UWM’s School of Architecture and Urban Planning, was among the SARUP faculty and staff who spent time with the students as they designed and constructed their projects. She is excited about the opportunity to engage with high school students as they explore careers in architecture and urban planning.
