Water and Environmental Justice: Lessons Learned and the Path Forward presentation by Sri Vedachalam, Director, Water Equity and Climate Resilience at Corvias Infrastructure Solutions, Inc.
Lecture Summary:
As we built our nation’s modern infrastructure during the past century, we forgot to account for the people, especially those from our disadvantaged communities. What does true environmental justice look like? A well-functioning water infrastructure is key to the nation’s well-being and that in turn is dependent on a thriving and engaged community.
BIO:
Dr. Sridhar (Sri) Vedachalam is Director, Water Equity and Climate Resilience at Corvias Infrastructure Solutions, Inc., where he works with communities to address their various water quality and access challenges. He brings water policy experience from his years in government, non-profit and consulting. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at the Alliance for the Great Lakes, is an Advisor to the communications nonprofit Water Hub, and is on the Steering Committee for the Water Quality Program at the India-based INREM Foundation. He was named a 2022 Top 10 Young Professional by Water & Wastes Digest. He holds a PhD from The Ohio State University.
