Bio

Oliver Johnson is a marketing and communications professional who specializes in the arts and education. He has over a decade of experience in higher education and the nonprofit sector, having served as marketing coordinator at UW-Parkside for the College of Arts and Humanities, Professional and Continuing Education, and many student-serving areas such as advising, tutoring, career services, community-based learning, internships, and academic success programs. Prior to that, Oliver led a nonprofit arts organization for six years and co-owned a café and gallery that provided opportunities to emerging artists and formerly incarcerated individuals. Oliver is dedicated to his community, as an engaged member and volunteer of the Young Nonprofit Professionals of Milwaukee, Urban Ecology Center, Milwaukee Riverkeepers, and chair of marketing for the Milwaukee Children’s Choir. Through a balance of data-driven and intuitive marketing and communication tactics, Oliver has grown audiences, raised funds, recruited students, engaged educators, and moved people. As a firm believer in the positive impact that his surroundings have on him, Oliver feels inspired and at home as marketing and communications lead for the School of Architecture and Urban Planning. While not working, he and his partner traverse the city on bike trails, take in live entertainment, consume healthy amounts of craft beer, and enjoy their historic cottage in Bay View.
