Associate Dean Karl Wallick has taught and coordinated design studios at all levels of the program including beginning design, comprehensive design, seminars and study abroad trips to Scandinavia. He previously served as associate dean from 2018 to 2020, and has also served as department chair. Wallick’s research focuses on tectonics and detail. He has published a number of books on the architecture of KieranTimberlake that focus on the firm’s unique approach to detailing and research.

Prior to his time at UWM, Wallick was a tenured faculty at the University of Cincinnati where he also helped launch the award-winning architecture office Drawing Dept. Wallick is co-partner of Ware Architecture, a design-build office with projects in both Milwaukee and Chicago.
