Late Departure Request Form

For residents who are seeking an extension to move-out, beyond the date indicated in their contract. Requests must be submitted by May 1, 2024.

Your 2023-2024 University Housing contract expires - For Res Hall Students: 24 hours after your last officially scheduled final exam, but no later than 12:00pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024; For Kenilworth Students: May 31, 2024, at 12:00pm.

If your personal circumstances necessitate remaining a short time longer, you may request a late departure for no later than June 1, 2024.
When you submit this form, an email confirmation will be mailed to your UWM email address.
Your official vacate date is the date your room key is returned to a University Housing staff member. If you fail to depart by the date and time approved, you will continue to be billed the daily rate until the key is returned and you have vacated your assigned space.
The following conditions apply to late departure:
1. I may be assigned to a temporary room in my current or a new building.
2. I may expect work crews and interruptions of services.
3. I may not have a University Housing past due balance.
4. I may not request a late departure beyond 12 noon on June 1, 2024.
5. If I cancel or change my request after it is approved, my late departure charges will not be reduced.
6. I understand that scholarships do not cover late departure charges.
7. I understand that I may not be approved for a late departure based on reasoning and facility availability.
8. I understand that I may be requested to provide documentation to support my request for late departure.
