Johnsen Schmaling Architects, the firm of SARUP’s Fitzhugh Scott Professors in Practice Brian Johnsen and Sebastian Schmaling, received a 2016 American Architecture Award for their Pleated House. Now in its 22nd year, the American Architectural Awards program is organized by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and The European Centre for Architecture and Art and is considered one of North America’s most distinguished building awards competition for new and cutting-edge design in the United States. Winning projects will exhibited this winter in Chicago, Athens and Istanbul.
