Part-Time Permits

Parking

UWM Transportation Services recognizes that some employees will need access to campus parking part-time. Employees, students, and visitors can purchase a one-day pass, valid for either a future date or the day of purchase. Employees and students can also add money to their PantherCard to access gated garages; Transportation Services uses a separate debit account tied to PantherCards, not GOLD accounts. Parking availability is subject to demand for each day. Transportation Services does not guarantee that a permit will be available for purchase on your desired day.

Customers can use Parkmobile to make reservations for specific days they need to be campus in advance for a flat daily rate. You can select from both outdoor lots and garages. Using Parkmobile Reservations guarantees you a parking space and allows you access to both Faculty/Staff and Lot Specific Reserved spaces (as designated by signage). Note: This does not grant access to handicap, visitor, UWM Department, and other specially-designated spaces.

You can also use your Transportation Services account to reserve a one-day pass or purchase on the day of your arrival. Only select lots are available. Permits purchased through this service guarantees parking, but only grants access to public, non-reserved spaces. Prices are fixed at $6 for each one-day permit through this service; pricing may vary from Parkmobile.

UWM uses virtual permits: your license plate is your permit. The only exception is if you are using Parkmobile in a gated garage (Lubar, Pavilion, NWQ, or Union); please see our Parkmobile page for instructions on entering and exiting the garages.

Debit Card for Campus Garage Access

Students and employees can add money to their PantherCard for limited use access to Lubar, Pavilion, NWQ, and Union Garages. Your PantherCard functions as a debit card. You scan your card to enter and exit, and each time you leave a garage, $6 is deducted from the card. Funds are good until drawn down. Transportation Services does not use GOLD accounts. A separate debit account is tied to your PantherCard.

To add money to your card online:

  1. Access the Transportation Services online portal.
  2. Click UWM Employee and Student Login.
  3. Enter your credentials.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Verify your address information.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Scroll down to the permits prefaced with [CAMPUS GARAGES DEBIT CARD]. There are three options: $20, $50, and $100. Select one.
  8. Agree to Transportation Services’ Rules and Regulations.
  9. Click Next.
  10. If you want to add more to your card, you can click the Add Permits to add more money to your account. If not you can select your payment method.
  11. Click Complete Transaction.
  12. Click Pay Now.
  13. Please allow 24 hours for the money to appear on your card.

If you have less than $6 on your card, you will be allowed entry but not exit. Please add money online or at the Pay on Foot Machine before exit.

If you have a permit and choose to add money to your PantherCard, you will need a separate access card. Transportation Services will contact you to provide the card. Otherwise, the debit feature will interfere with usage of your permit. If you have a debit card and later purchase a permit, you will likewise receive a separate access card.

You cannot store vehicles overnight.

Bus

MCTS offers a variety of fare options, such as one-day passes, to meet the needs of employees commuting a couple of times a week. There are several ways to purchase those options, too:

UWM Transportation Services is no longer an MCTS vendor; no discounts or subsidies are available specifically for UWM faculty, staff, or students. Payroll deduction is only available for Consumer Value Passes, not for the part-time bus passes mentioned above.
