Every semester, part-time academic staff with teaching responsibilities are invited to an interactive, half-day retreat during which strategies to help students get prepared for class are discussed. What are reasonable expectations for class participation? How can we assign meaningful work, provide useful feedback on it, and make out-of-class preparation worthwhile for our students and us?
Through discussion and small group activities, we will examine how to maximize student engagement outside of class. Participants are invited to bring their ideas for successful student preparation and will receive materials during the retreat.
Please visit the CETL Workshop Calendar to find the date for the upcoming retreat.
