ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview – Spanish
The Spanish Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) through the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) is a comprehensive and specialized assessment specifically designed to evaluate proficiency in interactive listening and speaking skills in the Spanish language. The ACTFL awards a certified rating that is recognized and held in high esteem by numerous Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and the American Council on Education (ACE).
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education provides the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview by computer (OPIc), delivering convenient, flexible testing alongside standardized, unbiased assessment that yields rapid results. Certification ratings may fulfill language teaching licensure requirements; please contact your state Department of Education for more information.
After registering, you have the flexibility to schedule your ACTFL OPIc anytime within a 90-day period. Your Oral Proficiency Interview will be proctored by the program manager live online through Zoom or Teams. Please set aside two hours for both the setup and the OPIc. Proctoring is offered Monday-Thursday 9am-9pm CT, Friday 9am-4pm CT and Saturday 8am-3pm CT based on program manager availability.
The program manager serves as your guide throughout the process, offering helpful examples and valuable tips to enhance your experience for taking the OPIc. The program manager will verify your valid picture ID at the beginning of the exam.
Note: You may schedule an ACTFL OPIc with Continuing Education at anytime, regardless of your participation in the Spanish program.

Early registration discounts will subtract automatically from the fee if the registration is submitted prior to the deadline. All other discounts require the code in the left column to be entered on the registration form. Only one discount code can be entered on a registration form.
