Health Care Professional Development includes Trauma Counseling, Six Sigma for Health Care, an online training program called Career Step, and many other health-related courses.
UWM in Partnership With Career Step
Career Step is an online program offering career-focused education designed to help you quickly enter the workforce. Included is a great education with interactive learning tools; one-on-one instructor support by phone, email and chat; and comprehensive resources to help transition from education to employment in the following fields:
- Professional Medical Coding and Billing with Applied PCS
- Medical Transcription Editor
- Pharmacy Technician
Anyone in the community can be subjected to a wide range of traumatic events, from being physically injured to sustaining traumatic brain injury, to witnessing suffering from the aftermath of violence. Explore programs that include trauma-related counseling and treatment, post-traumatic stress disorder, trauma first aid and post-traumatic growth.

By engaging you in real-life scenarios, Improving the Patient Experience Using Lean and Six Sigma clearly demonstrates the advantages of these proven concepts at all levels for patients and providers. Continuing Education for Rehab Health Professionals
UWM’s College of Health Sciences (CHS) Outreach Office promotes excellence in client/patient care by providing state-of-the-art Continuing Education (CE) programming for rehab health professionals. It offers a wide range of onsite and distance learning CE courses designed to support professional growth and development. The CHS Outreach Office is an approved provider of continuing education units by several national and local agencies in the fields of physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, speech-language pathology and massage therapy.
