Eleven undergraduate students participated 2010. They worked in seven different research laboratories in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Over a period of three summer months all students got an excellent inside about the ongoing scientific research and expectations of UWM graduate students. At the end of the program all students presented their work in form of a poster and summarized their work in a scientific written report. Many of these results will be part of future publications. The best poster was presented by Sarah Oehm.
Award ceremony (Sarah Oehm and Prof. Arnold)
The best best poster was presented by Sarah Oehm, who worked in the group of Prof. Hossain. The title of her poster was: Retrosynthetic strategy for indole synthesis by an intramolecular Buchward-Hartwig aminiation. Sarah started at UWM in 2009 and selected chemistry as her major. She is currently a graduate student in Prof. Schwabacher’s group.
