During this time, she also acquired her MBA from Marquette University.
Subsequently, Farmerie was a project officer with Keane Consulting, an information technology consulting firm. She implemented still-active project management offices at major area firms. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute (PMI®).
She is currently executive director of Lakeview Consulting, LLC, specializing in helping organizations implement project management best practices and deliver successful projects. After teaming with the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee School of Continuing Education to initiate the Project Management Certificate program, Farmerie continues as an ad hoc instructor. She teaches several courses in the Project Management Certificate and Project Management – Advanced Certificate, both in-class and online.
Farmerie’s diverse clients are the basis of her breadth and depth of knowledge and experience. Deliverables for those clients include:
- Research and development process improvement and integration
- New product development methodology, time-line reduction and stage gate reviews
- Project portfolio development aligned to strategic goals
Farmerie has served various positions on the board of directors for the PMI-Milwaukee/Southeast WI chapter, including president, vice president and treasurer. During her role as the chapter’s PMP exam prep study group organizer, she started more than 50 study groups throughout local companies to aid others in obtaining their PMP certifications. She was the first person to receive the 10-year volunteer award from the PMI-Milwaukee chapter.
Her favorite sports are kayaking, water skiing, hiking and cross-country skiing, depending on the conditions outside. She starts each day with some quality yoga time.
