Understanding Military Culture
Upon joining the military, service members quickly become part of a unique culture with a set of values, customs and rules that sets them apart from the civilian world. When we welcome veterans home, we may notice them struggle with readapting to civilian culture. The truth is they lived in a different world during their military service and there is inevitably a learning curve when coming home and shifting gears. We offer this course to help family members, employers, providers of services and other veteran supporters learn about the unique challenges faced by veterans and what you can do to help them transition home.
