From schnitzel to strudel, the German language is all around us. Because the language is widely spoken throughout Europe, German skills can facilitate travel. Learn basic conversational skills and essential grammar. German I covers the first three chapters in the textbook, “Sag Mal.”

Course Outline/Topics

Vocabulary focuses on gender, articles, nouns and pronouns, regular verbs, and numbers and letters, as well as phrases used to discuss school and university life, friends and family, time and months of the year, and sports and free-time activities.

Prerequisites

This course is for beginning German speakers. There is no prerequisite.

This is a noncredit enrichment program. Progress and courses completed are marked by Continuing Education Units. CEUs are not transferable to college or university transcripts.
