Experimental Tuesdays / FREE FOR EVERYONE!

This program features six short films made by Amir George, offering non-linear, spiritual and rhythmic work that works as a living and breathing soundtrack of the African diaspora as it seeks to further navigate and maneuver around the complexities of American culture. These films juxtapose sound, image and perception to conjure the secret life of objects both found and collected. This program is a selection of Amir’s short films, curated by Amir & Marquise. The screening will be followed by a conversation between the two.

Amir’s short films have screened at film festivals including BlackStar Film Festival, Rockaway Film Festival and Camden International Film Festival, as well as cultural institutions, including the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London; Moma PS1; Royal College of Art; Museum of Contemporary Arts, Los Angeles; and Museum of Contemporary Arts Detroit.
