Artis M. Landon, a highly skilled and experienced professional in the realms of criminal justice, education and leadership, currently holds the position of Associate Professor at Marquette University in the School of Social and Cultural Sciences. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership Theories from Cardinal Stritch University and holds a Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Springfield College. This academic foundation underpins his comprehensive understanding of criminal justice and social sciences.

His current role as Deputy Administrator at the Department of Health and Human Services-Childrens, Youth and Family Services (CYFS) service area in Milwaukee involves leading and supporting integrated children’s systems of care, overseeing quality assurance, and managing diverse operational aspects. This position reflects his commitment to community welfare and his ability to navigate complex systems effectively.

Artis’s professional journey includes significant roles such as Division Administrator at Wisconsin Community Services, Inc., where he led initiatives for youth and adult community reintegration and managed federal and state contracts. His experience as a Deputy Sheriff and Juvenile Correction Officer with the Milwaukee County Office of the Sheriff and the Children’s Detention Center respectively, adds a practical dimension to his knowledge, particularly in areas of law enforcement and youth supervision.

In the academic arena, Artis has shared his expertise as a Contracted Instructor in Criminal Justice at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education and as an Adjunct Instructor at Springfield College.
