Giorgio Sarro Awarded the American Meteorological Society’s Father James B. Macelwane Annual Award in Meteorology

Giorgio Sarro has been awarded the American Meteorological Society’s Father James B. Macelwane Annual Award in Meteorology! The award carries a $1,000 stipend and partial travel support to the next American Meteorological Society annual meeting. The Macelwane award is intended “to stimulate interest in meteorology among college students through the submission of original student papers concerned with some phase of the atmospheric sciences.” It is the most prestigious student research award offered by the American Meteorological Society, and one of the most prestigious such awards in all of the atmospheric and related sciences. Giorgio is UWM’s first recipient of the award. Congratulations Giorgio!
