“In classical set theory, sets are mathematically defined and it’s oftentimes straightforward to check if an element is or is not a member of a set. For instance, any given integer is either a member of the prime numbers or it is not. However, how do we classify what temperatures are warm? Is there even a concise definition for “warm temperatures”? Fuzzy set theory and logic allows us to explore questions like these for vaguely defined sets”.
