Lyrical Sanctuary is UWM’s monthly open mic night, featuring standout spoken word artists, music, art, and YOU! This month’s feature is Unique Russ! Unique is a Wom(y)n with many trades. A writer, poet, performer, host, “ARTivist”, DJ, teaching artist, connector, and creator of vibrations. Her passion for storytelling started at birth but it was sparked in the 8th grade In the 9th grade began to participate in a non-profit organization called Still Waters Collective. Now she has Performed at over 100 shows: many local art events, coffee shops, block parties, City Hall, femme fest, Turner Hall, Pridefest, and some in Madison, Oshkosh, Chicago, Arizona, Texas, and more.
