Museums and More – a trip to Madison
October 13 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
UWM students – join the Union Art Gallery for a free trip to Madison! We will be visiting the Chazen Museum of Art, and giving you time to explore other galleries and museums in the city, and a variety of shops on State Street. Lunch will be provided, as well as transportation to and from Madison.
The Chazen Art Museum is home to over 24,000 works of different mediums, cultures, and periods and is the second largest collection of art in Wisconsin. Many of the museum’s works and collections have been assembled over the years by donors, making Chazen a ‘collection of collections’. Another exciting exhibition to visit is at the James Watrous Gallery which is presenting MEND: the work of repair. This group exhibition features textile works by Heidi Parkes (Milwaukee) and sculpture by Glenn Williams (Milwaukee), Siara Berry (Cudahy), Sylvie Rosenthal (Madison), and Jaymee Harvey Willms (Milwaukee), artists whose work touches on diverse aspects of mending and repair.
