The application process contains three steps. Please read and fill out each section carefully and completely.
The exam is based on the state-approved training and Wisconsin Certified Parent Peer Specialist Core Competencies. It is recommended that you study your training materials and core documents for the CPPS role.
Step 1 – Information on the Certificate Exam Process
This step contains important information on the Certification Exam Process. It also includes information on Continuing Education Hours (CEH) requirements, recertification and fees.
You will be notified by email from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) as to your testing log-in, proctoring information and date/time one week prior to the exam. Questions regarding your exam application/registration should be directed to Gloria Lane at UWM-PeerSpecialist@uwm.edu or 414-227-3352.
Exams are currently online and remote.
The passing score is 85% or higher. You will receive a letter containing your official test score within 30 days of the exam. Upon successful completion of the required components, a certification document will be issued to you by the state of Wisconsin within two weeks of the issuance of your results letter.
Step 2 – Applicant Information
You are required to verify your eligibility to take the exam.
Exam registrants must have successfully completed the state-approved CPPS curriculum within two years prior to the exam date. A copy of your CPPS training Certificate of Completion must be either uploaded electronically or mailed with the application.
Step 3 – Application Process
