Roy Krueger

A Milwaukee native, Roy Krueger grew up in the Washington Heights area, attended Milwaukee Public Schools, and spent the summers at Neeskara Elemetary School playground, Hawthorne Glen Outdoor Education Center and Hoyt Park pool. During those years, he became fascinated with movies seen at the nearby Times Theater. After graduating from Washington High School, he earned a BBA degree from UW-Madison. After college he spent two years with the U.S. Army, 16 months of which were spent mostly in Inchon, Korea (where he was one of the projectionists for the nightly movies), with occasional trips to Japan.

After relatively brief endeavors in the world of business, he returned to academia at University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and University of Tennessee; these experiences let to earning a doctoral degree in psychology. After five years of college teaching, he returned to Milwaukee and accepted an administrative position with WI Correctional Service, from which he has since retired. After fleeing gainful employment, he found Osher Lifelong Learning, attending classes and eventually accepting a presenter position, which he has found rewarding.
