Maya Seshagiri holds a Master of Sciences in Nutritional Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley and is a Registered Dietitian (RD). She retired in 2015 as a Director of Health Education at Kaiser in California and is a past President of San Francisco Bay Area Dietetic Association. Maya is originally from South India and after her wedding, she and her husband moved to the United States. Her mother and mother-in-law taught her South Indian cooking. She raised three children who are avid South Indian cooks. Teaching South Indian cooking and nutrition places her in a unique position to share how South Indian cooking has evolved in three generations in the United States.
