Katie Wiemer

Katie Weimer is a school social worker for Woodland School District 50, working with fourth and fifth grade students. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in social work from UW-Milwaukee in 2015 and her master’s in social work from Concordia University in 2018. Katie received her school social work licensure from UW-Milwaukee in 2020. She started her social work career at a K-8 charter school in Racine, working with four through 13-year-olds before seeking experience in a larger public school district. Before social work, she had centered her passion around youth, working at UWM Children’s Learning Center and being a paraprofessional for students with diagnoses on the autism spectrum.

Katie believes in providing a safe, fun and accountable space for youth. She finds enjoyment in being a safe space for educators during these transitional and impactful times within the education system. She believes in holding space for educators to not only be heard but to grow through the increasing needs of social- emotional development within the classroom and at all ages.
