Jonathan Daly

Jonathan Gillard Daly is an actor and playwright, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jonathan spent 20 seasons as a resident company member and Associate Artist at Milwaukee Repertory Theater, as well as appearing in productions at Repertory Theatre of Saint Louis, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, American Players Theater, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Actors Theatre of Louisville, PCPA Theaterfest and many others. He is a founding member of the Great River Shakespeare Festival in Winona, Minnesota, where he has played, among many other roles, King Lear, Shylock and Falstaff. Plays he has written include “To the Promised Land” and an adaptation of “The Secret Garden,” which he wrote with his wife, playwright Gale Childs Daly. He recently published a book titled “Rough Magic: Scenes from an Actor’s Life.”
