Clarene Mitchell
Clarene Mitchell is the owner of TCM Communications LLC, a social media branding firm based in Mequon, Wisconsin, that focuses on helping success-driven entrepreneurs and corporate leaders effectively leverage LinkedIn to generate results. She holds a BA in interpersonal communications from Cardinal Stritch University.
In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Clarene is an accomplished print journalist, community activist and public relations professional. For more than 30 years she has worked to craft the image of community-based organizations and advance issues of importance. Clarene is viewed as a reliable source for accurate and timely information as well as branding guidance.
She has worked on the executive team for a mayor and was the first public information officer for the City of Milwaukee Health Department. Her nonprofit work included the Milwaukee Urban League, Black Health Coalition of Wisconsin, the Medical College of Wisconsin and others.
Clarene has been an independent print journalist since 1991. Her writing has been featured in Milwaukee’s mainstream newspaper, newspapers across the country, as well as local and national digital news media. She was sought out to write a feature article in the summer 2017 issue of A Women’s Thing, a New York City magazine and was a community affairs contributor for the nationally syndicated “In the Know” radio magazine show in Nashville, TN. Both of these opportunities were generated by her social media activity.
She added author to her credentials in September 2019 when she self-published her book, “Shine Online with LinkedIn: LinkedIn Isn’t Just an Online Database of Resumes!” Clarene is confident her book helps readers understand LinkedIn better and empowers them to leverage the platform to advance their digital footprints.
In January 2021, LinkedIn recognized Clarene’s “Shine Online Bulletin” (a LinkedIn newsletter) as a Top Pick. This distinction spotlights her as a thought leader for helping others to enhance their networks and gain visibility on the platform. That month she also launched her LinkedIn Live show, “Imposter Syndrome Disrupted.” The show puts a spotlight on women entrepreneurship, empowering women businesses owners with key information and resources for business success. The show is every second and fourth Thursday at noon EST. In February 2021, her biographical profile was added to the preeminent “Marquis Who’s Who.”
