Christie Peters, MS

Christie Peters serves as the director for the Office of Clinical Experiences. She oversees operation of the Office of Clinical Experiences and strives to provide high-quality clinical experiences in diverse urban communities that support UWM teacher candidates’ learning. She taught elementary students in Milwaukee Public Schools for 10 years and has served as a literacy interventionist providing individualized intervention plans for students in grades K-12.

Peters has experience helping prepare preservice teachers while serving as the elementary education program director at UWM. She taught undergraduate courses, supervised student teachers and mentored students while they worked towards certification. She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her master’s in reading and learning disabilities from Cardinal Stritch University.
