WIFoRT
Wisconsin Foundations of Reading Test Support
UWM’s School of Education can help you with test preparations for the Wisconsin Foundations of Reading Test (WIFoRT).
Participants receive materials that include an overview of the WIFoRT, strategies for analyzing and answering test questions, and strategies for studying for this high-stakes test.
IMPORTANT CHANGES: Teacher candidates in the state of Wisconsin are eligible to take the FoRT 90 through August 21, 2022. WIFoRT preparation class sessions offered through June 2022 are designed to prepare students for the FoRT 90 test.
The FoRT 190 will replace the FoRT 90 beginning August 22, 2022. WIFoRT preparation class sessions offered August 2022 and moving forward are designed to prepare students for the FoRT 190 test.

Course Outline/Topics
Enrollment is limited, and current UWM students receive priority. Confirmed registration is required prior to attending sessions. Test preparation opportunities are designed to support those seeking a teacher license in these areas:
- Kindergarten (K4) to Grade 9
- Reading teacher – initial license only
- Special education
- Reading specialist – initial license only
