Chie Kakigi, MS

Chie Kakigi, a native of Japan, has over 20 years of teaching experience at both the college and high school levels.

Chie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Japanese language and literature, with a minor in teaching Japanese as a foreign language from Chikushi Jogakuen University Japan in 1996. She then attended UW-Oshkosh, earning her Master of Science degree in education with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction in 2001. In addition, Chie is licensed through the state of Wisconsin in English as a Second Language (PreK-12) and Japanese (6-12).

She is currently working as an online Japanese teacher for Wisconsin Virtual School and as a front office supervisor at the UWM Center for International Education. In her free time, she enjoys traveling the world and exploring Milwaukee’s diverse communities, restaurants and events.
