Why We Forget & How to Remember

In these two classes, we will explore how our brains help us forget a lot of past events and learnings and why that’s a good thing. You are not supposed to remember everything from your past. Your remembering self, on the other hand, is constantly shaping your present and future by influencing just about every decision you make. Together we will reflect on our memories and see how they help us be who we are today. We will discuss in small and full group our memories which have influenced our lives. We will also discuss older age memory loss and ways to improve our short-term memory. Much of the material for this course comes from the book, “Why We Remember” by Charan Ranganath, Ph.D. who has researched memory and the brain for over 20 years. Now, I must go to the grocery store…Oh my, where did I leave my car keys?
