Looking at the Role of HBCUs

This session will explain what Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) are and a brief overview of why these institutions were established. We will discuss the relevance of these institutions in today’s educational landscape. Sarah Willis, alumni of Alcorn State University, will share her experience and insights throughout her journey as an HBCU alumni. Special guest Latoya Turner, author of “Brown Hands, Black Schools HBCUs” will share information about her book and film.
