Complexities of Campus Community Policing

The course will focus on campus community policing and its importance to not only the university but also to the community that surrounds the campus. The manner in which the campus is policed owes a lot to experiences outside of standard policing techniques, such as with the Secret Service. Perceptions, personal interactions with campus citizens and an understanding of the students, faculty and staff are important to developing a successful campus life where all feel safe.
