Drawing/Fibers & Wearable Sculpture

Gr. 10-12

Drawing is a language that can transform a blank page into a new world. Drawing is also a skill that helps us express ourselves, develop our ideas, and better understand the world. Peck School of the Arts drawing faculty help students move from observation and imagination to highly developed drawings and a strong artistic voice.

This class is a must for the student interested in fashion or costume design and dimensional construction. Students will learn to deconstruct existing clothing to create patterns and build wearable sculptures using a variety of attachment techniques, or haute couture garments. They will also work with recycled objects and everyday materials like cotton and cardboard. This is the perfect start for the student interested in costume design, environmentally friendly fashion, sewing, sculpture and craft.

This course can be applied to the Art & Design Certificate Track.
