Samuel Beckett article by Associate Professor Andrew Kincaid

Associate Professor Andrew Kincaid has an article on Samuel Beckett’s radio plays in the latest issue (Feb. 2022) of the journal Modernist Cultures. The article explores Beckett’s turn to radio in the 1950s against the backdrop of urban theory in Paris, his adopted city. As theorists such as Gaston Bachelard and Henri Lefebvre developed a critique of the of the rationalization of city space, so Beckett turned to the airwaves to put ghostly and fragmented voices on the air.
