Associate Professor Kate Beutner wins Edna Ferber Prize

Associate Professor Kate Beutner’s recent novel Killingly won the Edna Ferber Fiction Book Award. The award is part of the Wisconsin Writers Awards series, which was “established in 1964 and is Wisconsin’s longest-running literary award for published work.” It’s currently curated by the Arts + Literature Laboratory of Madison, Wisconsin. In addition to a cash prize, Beutner will receive a five-day writing residency at Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts in Mineral Point.

The award celebration is Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 6 PM in Madison. Beutner will also do events at Mystery to Me in Madison on June 12 and at the Book Cellar in Chicago on July 24.
