The American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) Conference is in Milwaukee this week, at the Hilton City Center. A number of members of our faculty are presenting, including Lorena Terando and Leah Leone from Translation and Interpreting Studies; Michael Mikos from Foreign Languages and Linguistics; Michelle Bolduc and Nicolas Russell from French, Italian, and Comparative Literature; and Cindy Wilmeth, our MALLT Program Assistant.
The Provost will be giving the opening welcome on Wednesday, November 12 at 6 p.m., and Meg Noodin, Brenda Cárdenas, and Kim Blaeser, all from the Department of English, are going to be reading during the closing fundraiser event on Saturday, November 15 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Tickets are $40. Concurrent free events include book displays and public readings at the Central Branch of the Milwaukee Public Library.
