Virginia Small

Virginia Small has delved into the history of America’s designed landscapes and environmental issues for more than 25 years. Since returning to her Milwaukee roots, she has written for many local publications, including recently as a regular contributor to the Shepherd Express. She also conducts tours of significant places, including parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Warren H. Manning and others. She contends that Milwaukee’s largely unsung landscape legacies are assets that can more fully convey Milwaukee’s unique narrative and foster civic pride.
