Todd Davis, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. Todd Davis is an assistant professor at MSOE teaching courses in the Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) Department primarily in the areas of structural engineering and geotechnical engineering.  Dr. Davis is the faculty advisor for the MSOE chapters of the Intervarsity and a faculty mentor for Engineers without Borders (EWB).  Todd is a registered PE in Florida and Wisconsin.

Dr. Davis joined MSOE in 2012 from the University of Florida where he earned his Ph.D. in structural engineering.  His research focus was on the long-term performance of adhesive anchors in concrete in response to the Boston tunnel collapse of 2006.  During his tenure at the University of Florida, he was heavily involved with ACI committee 355 (Anchorage to Concrete).  Dr. Davis is a Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) research fellow and conducted a portion of his graduate research at the IWB laboratories at the University of Stuttgart.  While at the University of Florida, he was also an instructor for the reinforced concrete course.

Prior to his graduate studies, Todd earned his Bachelor’s in civil engineering in 1995 from Auburn University where he met and married his wife Shana Wise who was a fellow civil engineering classmate.  Following graduation, he served for four years in the US Navy Civil Engineer Corps as a Staff Civil Engineer.  In 1999, Todd and his wife moved to Guatemala to build a vocational school and to open and direct a regional office for Engineering Ministries International, a non-profit engineering organization serving Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.  During his tenure in Guatemala, Todd gained significant design experience in civil and structural engineering as well as construction management.  He was directly involved in the design and construction of various engineering projects throughout the region such as orphanages, medical clinics, schools, churches, community water systems, and homes for natural disaster victims.

Having lived overseas for some years, Todd enjoys traveling and serving in the arena of international relief and development.
