Mike Kotecki

Mike Kotecki embarked on his engineering journey by obtaining an Electrical Engineering degree from UW-Milwaukee. He gained local professional experience at Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) and The Koss Corporation, where he managed a small team in the Quality Department. His transition into a leadership role highlighted the challenges many successful STEM professionals face when climbing the organizational ladder.

Over the next three decades, Mike’s career unfolded with HK Systems/Dematic, a global leader in supply chain automation. During this time, he steadily advanced from a software developer to a senior executive position. These early experiences and subsequent adventures served as the foundation for a class and a book with the same title, “Leadership for Engineers.”

After his extensive career, Mike currently operates as the sole proprietor of MK Tactical Leadership LLC. In this role, he engages in coaching and consulting, and holds various board positions spanning manufacturing, healthcare and education. Throughout his career, Mike has established himself as an internationally recognized speaker and writer, covering topics such as technology, motivation, sales, economics, service, behavior, and, of course, leadership.
