Mike Carlson

Mike Carlson is Executive Director of Gathering Waters: Wisconsin’s Alliance for Land Trusts. He has been with Gathering Waters since 2008, serving in a number of different roles including Government Affairs Director and Director of External Relations. He has held his current position since 2016. Mike serves on the Land Trust Alliance’s (LTA) National Leadership Council. Originally from Washington, D.C., Mike received a B.A. from Bowdoin College, an M.S. in environment & resources from the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at UW-Madison, and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Mike traces his commitment to conservation to his youth and time spent on his family’s property in the mountains of central Virginia and exploring Shenandoah National Park.
