Karen Sands

Karen Sands has more than 30 years of environmental planning experience that includes a strong background in leadership, development, public outreach and education in transportation and water resource projects. She has worked extensively in private consulting and government, and serves on several non-profit boards that protect freshwater resources. Her recent background includes the successful management and direction of several multi-million dollar stormwater and wastewater planning projects for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, drafting bi-national proclamations for Great Lakes protection, and accepting a “Top 10 Influential Women of Water” award from Mazars in 2020.
