Elizabeth Keitel

A Midwesterner transplanted to New England, Elizabeth spent most of her career teaching classics at UMass Amherst from which she retired in 2019. There she developed a course on disasters and disaster narratives in classical antiquity. She began the course with “A Night to Remember,” a classic, accessible and quite sophisticated book which has never been out of print.
