Colleen Trevino

Colleen Trevino, PhD, NP, is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin with 22 years of experience treating traumatically injured adults in a Level I trauma center in Milwaukee. Her research explores the relationship of biopsychosocial factors that modulate the pain experience and how acute pain transitions to the development of chronic pain. She specifically explores the relationship between pain and quality of life indicators such as chronic disability, depression and posttraumatic distress. She has developed a post-discharge clinic to address quality of life outcomes in adult firearm injury survivors and to address all biopsychosocial needs within the context of the Social-Ecological model of health.
