WSO: In Support of Wisconsin Birds

The Wisconsin Society for Ornithology has been promoting the enjoyment, study and conservation of Wisconsin’s birds since 1939. We have a long history of supporting ornithological research in the state—both professionally and, more recently, citizen science. We are a key partner in creating the Wisconsin Breeding Bird Atlas—a statewide, comprehensive survey to document the distribution and abundance of our breeding birds. We offer birding field trips throughout the state and throughout the year and encourage our neighbors, fellow birders and newcomers to observe and enjoy our avian friends. Additionally, we advocate for birds and educate on the issues that affect our bird populations—we speak for the birds!
