The Wisconsin Black Historical Society/Museum (WBHS/M) is the only institution in Wisconsin dedicated to the business of preserving our state’s African History. The WBHS/M opened its door and its heart to the community, city and state in 1987. The focus of the exhibits in WBHS/M is on the history of African Americans in Wisconsin. The museum has targeted key historical, social and economic events that affected and influenced African Americans in Wisconsin.
