Geological Tour of Estabrook Park

This tour is led by Gina Szablewski, Geologist at UWM. The tour will begin with a short discussion of the geology of Estabrook Park, followed by a walk along the primitive river path to look at evidence of glaciers, an ancient inland tropical sea, and rocks formed deep within the Earth. Along the way, discuss the nature of the Milwaukee River and admire the offerings of this urban park. Return to the starting point as the group walks along the paved Oak Leaf Trail to complete a hike that is approximately 1.5 miles long. Meeting place will be the Biergarten (Beer Garden) at Estabrook Park. Handicap limitations: This is a 1.5 mile walking tour on rough terrain and uneven ground.

There is a parking lot just outside of the Beer garden.
